Cord and Plug Connected Equipment

Lockout/tagout is not required for work on cord and plug connected electrical equipment if electricity is the only source of hazardous energy and it can be controlled simply by unplugging the equipment. The authorized employee must maintain exclusive control of the plug during service/maintenance.
