Outside Contractor

If an outside contractor does service/maintenance on equipment:

• The outside contractor and the on-site employer must exchange information about their lockout/tagout procedures.
• On-site employees must understand and follow the outside contractor’s energy control program. The on-site employer is responsible for ensuring their employees know how to do this.
• Be alert for unfamiliar types of lockout/tagout devices that may be used.
